Ben Klein
Psychologist
Psychologist
Dr. Klein came to Gillen Brewer in September 2010. Before coming to Gillen Brewer, Ben worked in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at King's County Hospital. His extensive work experience with children includes both time spent as a teacher and a psychologist in a variety of school and hospital settings including the Child Development Center at the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services and the Robert Louis Stevenson School. Ben received his Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Cornell University and both a Masters and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University - Brooklyn Campus. Dr. Klein is a certified trainer in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.

Sarah Leventhal came to Gillen Brewer in September 2009. She received a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Binghamton University and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from NYU. Sarah enjoys traveling and yoga.

Holly Thomas
Speech and Language Pathologist
Head of the Speech-Language Department: Holly came to Gillen Brewer in 2000. She is a certified Hanen therapist and PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetics Targets) trained. Holly adapted Sounds In Motion (SIM), a phonemic awareness and early literacy program, for the special education population. She has presented SIM training workshops for ASHA, the United Federation of Teachers, the Learning Disabilities Association of America, and Everyone Reading. Holly holds a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University’s School of Speech and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Teachers’ College, Columbia University.

Daria started at Gillen Brewer in 2015. She is a certified Hanen therapist and PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetics Targets) trained. Daria holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Ithaca College and a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Queens College. Her favorite hobbies are singing and photography (not at the same time), both of which she loves bringing to her work here at Gillen Brewer.
