The Daisies Class welcomed grandparents and special visitors on Friday, October 20th. The students and guests used play dough to create Fall themed shapes. To add to the festivities, everyone read/sang the "Way Up High In a Tree" book that was written by The Daisies Class. To end the day, some guests even took a photo in our sparkly picture frame. Hip, hip, hooray for a fun filled day!

September was a busy month, as the children explored a variety of flowers in search of our class name. First, the students used their senses to see, touch and smell the many parts of a flower. Petals, stems and dirt were everywhere as our "little botanists" took to the task! Upon narrowing the choice between two: (daisies or lilies); the voting process began. Connecting cubes stacked up high, the children tallied their votes and "The Daisies" was the choice of the day! Through the creative process and "hands-on" learning, the class painted with green, brown, and blue tempera, ripped and crumpled tissue paper, poured sticky glue and even added real soil to their masterpiece. The result of all their hard work can be seen on our bulletin board and each daisy flower is "an original" just like the little hands that created them! |
