The Daisies welcomed the fall season by using their five senses to experience the world around our school. The students explored pumpkins, taking note of their different sizes and how they felt with and without paint. Next came gourds, that were used to create art on paper. The children examined the insides and were surprised by what they found! Magnifying glasses were utilized to get a closer look. Corn entered our classroom in mid November and little fingers were ripe for "shucking". There were even those who dared to take a tasty bite! After all the hard work, the cobs were rolled in paint to make corn prints on oak tag. Finally, with the colder weather fast approaching, the group took a walk around our school neighborhood to see and hear the sights. Some sounds came from "trucks", "birds", "cars", and even barking "dogs"! With bags in hand, our little explorers collected leaves and even sweet scented pines from branches on First Avenue. The Daisies worked together and brought their hard earned treasures back to class to add to the Touch Table. Goodbye fall, up next..........Winter!

The Daisies shared ideas, thoughts, and stories in preparation for our Thanksgiving Feast. The students discussed their favorite foods which inspired our own classroom story "It's Thanksgiving Day" (to the tune of "Today is Monday" by Eric Carle). It culminated into a celebration of family, food and fun!
